One person is charged in connection with a stolen vehicle in Colborne.
Friday morning Northumberland OPP received a report of an unlocked vehicle stolen from outside a business on King Street East.
Officers began patrolling the area and a short time later a vehicle matching the description was observed on Highway 401 westbound in Hamilton Township.
The vehicle was confirmed to be the stolen vehicle and was pulled over just off County Road 28 in Port Hope.
Police say the suspect would not give his name though his identity was ascertained through investigation.
Thirty-three-year-old Nathan Barret of Binbrook is charged with:
– Theft of motor vehicle
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Theft under $5,000
– Operation while prohibited
– Breach of recognizance.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg
