Belleville City Council approved the purchase of three hybrid transit buses at its council meeting on Monday.
Purchasing the three new buses cost $4,054,400.27.
They are in addition to a hybrid bus that is already in commission by Belleville Transit.
As part of the decision, council also approved an amendment to last year’s capital budget that would allow for the purchase of a new mobility bus.
Funding for the new buses, including the mobility bus, came from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s Public Transit Infrastructure Stream in the amount of $5,050,000.
