Work at the new Quinte Exhibition site off Black Diamond Road could enter a new stage after a
decision at a meeting of Belleville council Monday.
Council is being asked to accept the tender from Bel-Con Design-Builders to build a 36,400 square foot building to be used for competitions and displays by the Belleville Agricultural Society.
Bel-Con’s bid was considered the most qualified of the four received and totalled almost $11.9 million, about $850,000 over budget.
Originally, the building was to be larger but the project was downsized last year when an application for a significant senior government grant wasn’t successful.
