While some parts of eastern Ontario have had their rainfall records for August 9 shattered by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby, measurements at CFB Trenton fell just short of the mark.
Friday’s downpour brought 29.6 mm of rain locally.
The standing record is 30.5, which was set in 1943.
More than 150 millimetres of rain fell in Montreal on Friday, surpassing their usual total for the entire month of August, and forecasters are saying parts of Quebec could receive up to 120mm today as the storm makes its way east.
