Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Quinte region.
Areas affected include Belleville, Quinte West and the eastern part of Northumberland County.
“A low pressure system interacting with the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby is expected to give heavy rainfall for eastern Ontario tonight through Friday,” the weather agency said in its alert. “Rain will taper off Friday night.”
Rainfall is expected to begin tonight with total rainfall amounts expected to be between 50 and 75 mm.
The rainfall is expected to continue through Friday.
