A Trent Hills woman has been charged with impaired operation causing bodily harm.
Paramedics, Trent Hills Fire and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a flipped all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in the area of Catchmore Road at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Police arrived at the location and treated the ATV driver and a child passenger for injuries as a result of the collision. Both had been wearing their helmets and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The injuries are described as non-life threatening and non-life altering.
As a result of an investigation at the scene by police and speaking with the ATV driver at the hospital, officers entered into an impaired operation investigation.
A demand for a breath sample was made with the operator complying with the result of fail. The operator was then arrested.
A 38-year-old female, from the Municipality of Trent Hills, was charged with Operation while impaired causing bodily harm.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
OPP say the individual will not be named in order to protect the identity of the child.
