The Belleville Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted after someone damaged a parked vehicle and sprayed its owner with pepper spray Tuesday.
Police report a woman had parked a vehicle in her driveway on Liddle Lane which is east of the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre at around 5 p.m.
A short time later she spotted a male scratching the vehicle with an object believed to be a knife.
When the woman followed the suspect down the sidewalk asking him to stop he sprayed both her and a neighbour who tried to help her with what’s believed to be pepper spray.
The male is described as around 5’11” tall, white with no shirt, red shorts and sneakers. He was last observed running through the parking lot of the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
