Details are starting to emerge about the Stanley Cup celebrations set for Belleville on Tuesday August 20.
Florida Panthers forward Nick Cousins visited Quinte News to discuss details of the event.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun. I think the most exciting thing about winning this thing (Stanley Cup) is just being able to share it, first off with your family and your close friends that you grew up with, and then giving it back to the city that I grew up in. To be able to share it with the people of Belleville makes it that much more special. Something I’m looking forward to.”
Cousins says the schedule is set for two hours on August 20 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
“Aiming for 12 noon to bring it to CAA Arena. We’re going to be able to showcase it a little bit, have people come up and take a picture and get an autograph. Still working out a little bit of the details on that. Excited to be able to share it with young kids that obviously have aspirations to play in the NHL, they can come.”
Cousins is working with the City of Belleville on the event, which will be hosted by CJBQ, Mix 97, Rock 107, and Quinte News.
Cousins will have the trophy on site, along with pre-signed items available for fans.
He will also be answering questions in a sit-down interview as well.
The exact location in the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre will be announced next week, along with the rollout of the event.
His interview with Quinte News can be heard below.
