Warkworth Institution has been put into lockdown.
In a release, Correctional Service Canada says this is to allow staff members to conduct what is being called an “exceptional search.”
The CSC says the search was ordered to ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff, and inmates.
Visits have been suspended until the search is completed.
Normal operations will resume once it is considered safe to do so.
