Quinte Health is welcoming a new general surgeon.
Dr. Oleg Lefel comes from Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Nova Scotia where he has spent the past 15 years.
Dr. Lefel’s scope of practice includes advanced laparoscopy for upper and lower GI tracts (benign and malignant conditions), laparoscopic hernia repair, laparoscopic splenectomy, breast surgery including lymph node biopsy and dissection, colorectal surgery, thyroid surgery, minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy including polypectomy, tattoo placement, balloon dilatation and hemostatic procedures.
Dr. Lefel is moving to the Belleville area with his wife – an operating room nurse who is also joining the Quinte Health team, his three daughters, and his Miniature Schnauzer named Sam.
He is starting his practice in August and is accepting referrals.
Dr. Lefel’s office will be located in the WCA building at Belleville General Hospital and he will perform procedures at Belleville, Trenton and Picton hospitals.
