A Prince Edward County resident is facing more than 30 charges in connection with a lengthy fraud investigation in which police estimate several victims lost approximately $500,000.
Prince Edward County OPP conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada, looking into offences dating back several years with numerous victims.
Sixty-five-year-old Paul Marconi is charged with 15 counts of fraud over $5,000, 15 counts of theft over $5,000 and four counts of make false statement in writing – the making of a loan.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Picton court on August 28.
