Belleville police have charged a businessman with sexual assault after an employee was allegedly sexually assaulted.
A 19-year-old woman reported the assault on Wednesday, telling police that she was sexually assaulted by the business’s owner on her first day of a new job.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation into the allegation, which culminated in the arrest of the 49-year-old suspect Thursday afternoon.
The accused, who has not been identified, was held for a bail hearing.
