A would-be thief who put up a fight was arrested by police Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to a North Front Street grocery store after a man was observed by security attempting to steal several items. When confronted, the suspect started fighting with security and eventually took off on the run.
Police caught up with the 29-year-old suspect, who happened to also be wanted on several warrants from another police service. He was charged with theft and breach of probation before being released to officers from Kingston police.
