Two national power tumbling athletes, as well as a coach from the Quinte Bay Gymnasitcs Club, have earned medals at the World Age Group Gym Fest competiton in Portugal.
Rachel Peck and Michael McFarlane were joined by Katelyn Thompson who was there as a coach with Team Canada.
Fourteen-year-old Michael McFarlane won a gold medal in his age division.
McFarlane is also the 2024 Canadian national champion for his age group. This was his first international competiton.
Seventeen-year-old Rachel Peck won gold as a member of the Canadian tumbling team as well as a bronze in her age group.
Athletes from Australia, South Africa, the U.S. and Portugal also took part.
