A local athlete’s Olympic achievements were recognized by Prince Edward County mayor Steve Ferguson, with a Civic Recognition Certificate.
During Tuesday’s meeting of council, councillors recognized Kim Pothier for her success in speed skating at the Special Olympic National Winter Games in Calgary and at the Special Olympics Ontario Spring Games in Waterloo.
Pothier won a gold medal and three silvers in Calgary for speed skating, along with four golds and a silver in Waterloo for swimming.
