A North York man was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to a long list of charges in a Belleville
courtroom Monday.
Camar Francis pleaded guilty in December to possession of property obtained by crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon while prohibited, failing to comply with a probation order, and another weapons charge.
Francis was arrested by Quinte West OPP officers and OPP specialty units on April 18, 2023 after a police search of a residence in the city.
The search turned up over 400 grams of cocaine, pills believed to be percocets and xanax, digital scales, cell phones, and over $2,600 in cash.
A loaded black Ruger 9mm handgun was located outside the residence underneath a bedroom used by Francis, who was 19 at the time of the arrest.
Two other people initially arrested, Amelia Shephard and Kayla Parks, had charges against them withdrawn in October of 2023.
