Belleville native Landon Wright is the definition of what it means to trust the process.
He has played all levels of hockey including Quinte West Minor Hockey, the Quinte Red Devils, the CCHL, OJHL, and will soon play in the BCHL.
We better not forget the fact he already has his university NCAA commitment to the University of Maine starting next fall.
The 2023-24 season was one to remember for Wright.
He won a league championship in the Ontario Junior Hockey League in his minor hockey home arena in Trenton.
He can also call himself a national champion. While a member of the Collingwood Blues, they won the Centennial Cup in May, beating Melfort Saskatchewan of the SJHL in the final.
This past week Wright came back to where it all started, in Quinte West.
Wright and his family had the OJHL Championship trophy and the National Junior A trophy, the Centennial Cup (formerly the RBC Cup).

Wright spoke to Quinte News and says to bring the trophy to the arena where it all began was great.
“Unbelievable. It’s something that I’m going to be chasing forever. Nothing comes underneath winning a championship now. There’s nothing second to that, that’s going to be the new norm.”

He is now off to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), where he will play for Penticton
In his career to date, Wright has been able to match the level of the league he has entered.
Going the college route is a great option for many players, but Wright will be playing against men that are as old as 23 or 24.
“Right from the start I’ve always been a smaller guy. Looking into the NCAA route was more of an opportunity for me to grow into a bigger frame where I am now and just have more time to develop.”
Wright is slated to attend the University of Maine in the 2025-26 season.
