A zoning change has been approved for a property along Highway 2 in Quinte West.
During Thursday’s Quinte West planning advisory committee meeting, committee members voted to approve a zoning change for the property at 991 Old Highway 2.
The zoning change now lists the property as Commercial Rural Exception 19 (CR-19), which permits a range of commercial developments including motor vehicle dealerships.
A preliminary site plan included with the zoning request includes a central showroom building for a power sports dealership, an outdoor display space, a storage area in the rear, and a planned green space as a buffer between the business and nearby homes.
The north end of the lot also includes an area of provincially significant wetland, which is noted in the new zoning designation.
The committee approved the change without debate, and it was sent on to Quinte West council for final approval.
