Assault and Uttering Threats
On July 16, 2024 at 6:01 p.m., Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s west end after receiving information that an adult female was fearful of her husband and afraid to leave the residence. Upon their arrival, police ensured the female’s safe removal from the residence. During the ensuing police investigation, police learned that the male suspect had assaulted the female and threatened to kill her. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 30-year-old Belleville resident for assault and uttering threats to cause death. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
