The Lennox & Addington OPP Detachment Board is looking for a community representative.
The Municipality of Tyendinaga Township contracts with the Ontario Provincial Police (https://www.opp.ca/) for police protection within the community.
The board is a joint detachment board between the three communities of Tyendinaga Township, the Town of Deseronto, and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and was created earlier this year under the new Community Safety and Policing Act.
It will include one elected official from each of the three communities along with one community member to be appointed to jointly represent the communities of Tyendinaga Township, the Town of Deseronto, and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte.
Community member terms will align with the current council term.
Applications are being accepted until Friday, August 23, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
