Hockey Canada has announced the National Under 17 Development Camp Roster and there are three local connections named.
Forwards Maddox Dagenais of the Quebec Ramparts, Maxim Dubé of the Gatineau Olympiques, and J.C. Lemieux of the Windsor Spitfires.
Dagenais, who attends L’Envol High School in Trenton, was selected first recently in the QMJHL draft. Dagenais was the OMHA East Player of the Year in 2023-24 getting the most points for the Quinte Red Devils.
Dube has signed with Gatineau after being selected 12th overall this spring. Now a Belleville resident, he played AAA hockey in New York State this past season, although he is a former Quinte Red Devil.
Lemieux recently was signed by the Windsor Spitfires. He is a second round selection in the OHL draft. He had 60 points this past season for the Quinte Red Devils.
