Environment Canada has changed its severe thunderstorm watch to a rainfall warning for the Quinte region.
RAINFALL WARNING
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
Hazards: Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm. Rainfall rates of 30 mm an hour.
Timing: This afternoon.
Discussion: Heavy rain is expected with showers and thunderstorms. Total rainfall amounts near 50 mm are possible with rainfall rates of 30 mm within an hour. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
