The Quinte region received far less rain Thursday than on Wednesday, but it was still enough yesterday to set a new rainfall record for July 11.
Readings from CFB Trenton show 10.8 millimetres of rain fell yesterday, breaking the previous record of 9.8 set in 1982.
The remnants of Hurricane Beryl, which was downgraded to a tropical depression earlier this week, hit the area on Wednesday and earlier in the day Thursday.
On Wednesday, 42.3 millimetres (1.66 inches) of rain fell, more than three times the previous record for a July 10 which was only 13 mm set in 2006.
