Users of Highway 401 through the Quinte region should take note.
Beginning Friday July 12, the speed limit on Hwy 401 in both directions will increase to 110 km/h from the current 100 km/h.
The change affects sections of the 401 from Clarington to Cobourg and from Colborne through Belleville east to Kingston.
All highway sections were chosen by the provincial government based on their ability to safely handle higher speed limits.
