An all female motorcycle group touring the Quinte area on the weekend made a special stop on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory Saturday.
WindSisters Kingston/Belleville/Trenton presented a $620 donation to the the Red Cedars Women’s Shelter on behalf of WindSisters Canada and International.
They also spent some time at the site of an Indigenous woman who went missing earlier this year.
The body of Michelle Kunkel was located in early February, about a month after she was reported missing.
Members of WindSisters placed painted red dress rocks around the area in honour of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIWG).
Riders in the group wear purple to raise awareness of violence against women.
