Building activity was down in Quinte West last month compared to the year before.
The municipality issued 55 permits with a construction value of $7.6 million in June.
In June 2023, there were 69 permits valued at $13.6 million.
Permits issued last month included 12 for new dwellings – nine for detached homes and three for apartments.
There was also a permit for a $975,000 renovation at Trenton Cold Storage and another for a $600,000 accessory building at Connon Nurseries.
Year-to-date numbers remain down.
Quinte West has granted 283 permits with a $33 million construction value through the end of June, a significant decrease from the 316 permits worth $86.8 million through the end of June in 2023.
