It appears many people are waiting for further rate cuts before they jump into the real estate market.
In the latest report from the Central Lakes Association of Realtors, President Vicki Sweeney says the number of days homes are sitting on the market are increasing, leading to a rise in active listings.
There were 72 sales in Belleville in June. The average price was $511,543.
In Quinte West the average price of the 32 homes sold was $557,097.
Overall, Hastings County witnessed 168 sales with an average price of $534,807, marking an 8% decrease from June 2023.
The average days on market were 32 with active listings increasing by 13% to 802, compared to 709 in June 2023.
The real estate association reports 33 homes were sold in Prince Edward County where the average cost was $759,570.
The average price is a slight increase over June of last year which was $754,075.
Active listings increased by 56% to 309 over the same period.
There were 20 homes sold in the Brighton area with an average price $684,805.
Northumberland County had 154 sales in June 2024, up from 147 in June 2023, with an average price of $748, 535.
Active listings increased by 52%, from 399 to 605.
