Motorcycle vs car collision
On July 2, 2024 at 11:25 a.m., police, fire and paramedics responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Dundas Street East and Dufferin Ave. The driver of the motorcycle, a 56-year-old Belleville man, was transported to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries. As a result of the police investigation, the driver of the car, a 67-year-old Prince Edward County man was charged with fail to yield to traffic on through highway. The driver of the car was not injured.
Paramedic Assaulted
On July 2, 2024 at 9:16 p.m., an officer on patrol in the area of Keegan Parkway located a man in distress, completely naked and under the influence of drugs. Hastings-Quinte Paramedics attended and transported a 35-year-old Belleville man to the hospital. In the ambulance the male became assaultive, attempting to punch the paramedic and intentionally spitting on them. While at the hospital, the male continued to be assaultive toward paramedics and hospital staff. The male was sedated and remained in the care of hospital staff. A warrant will be requested for the male for one count of assault. The paramedic was not injured.
