The inaugural Rushnell Family Charity Classic Golf Tournament to support animals in need at Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward was a resounding success, raising $26,125 in one day.
The tournament, held at Trillium Wood Golf Course on June 21, 2024, brought together 144 golfers and featured 18 holes of golf, dinner, auction, raffle, 50/50 draw and a special TV for Tilly Raffle. Hole in One prizes of a new CR-V, sponsored by West City Honda and $25,000 in cash, sponsored by McDougall Insurance and Financial were available but went unclaimed.
“This is outstanding,” said Greg Sudds, HSHPE board chair. “We are so thankful for the caring and dedication shown by the entire Rushnell team and tournament sponsors, players and supporters.”
“We are proud to be able to support Humane Society HPE and couldn’t have done it without all of the participants and sponsors in this year’s Charity Golf Tournament. As a family business, it makes us extremely happy to be able to give back to the community we live and work in,” commented tournament organizer Ashley Rushnell.
Tournament sponsors were Rushnell Funeral Homes (Platinum Sponsor), McDougall Insurance and Financial (Gold Sponsor), Belmont Long Term Care Facility and Arabella Retirement Living (Silver Sponsors) and They (Creative Sponsor).
