Quinte West OPP have updated the public on a serious assault Sunday morning in Trenton.
Around 3 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing near Front Street.
Officers located an individual with cuts from an edged weapon, and they were transferred to hospital.
Police believe this is an isolated event and there is no risk to public safety.
The OPP Crime Unit, Emergency Response, and Canine Unit searched two residences.
An 18-year-old and a youth were arrested.
Isaiah Nickerson and a youth were both charged with aggravated assault, theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Nickerson was also charged with assault with a weapon and pointing a firearm.
Both accused remain in custody with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
