The City of Quinte West says the cooling centre at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena is open today until 5 p.m., in response to the heat in the area.
A cooling centre at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena activates when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher.
Splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both Trenton and Frankford.
