A report from the public about a possible impaired driver led to an arrest on Sunday.
Prince Edward County OPP responded just after 7:30 p.m. and located the vehicle on County Road 1.
The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for testing by a Drug Recognition Evaluation Officer.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of ketamine, amphetamine and GHB.
Twenty-eight-year-old Samuel Houston of Montreal was charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – three counts.
The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on July 24, 2024.
The accused’s licence is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
