Firefighters from both Murray Ward halls in Quinte West were kept busy during Thursday night’s storm.
Crews from the south Murray hall responded to a stubborn fire in a contractor’s wood chip pile on Loyalist Parkway at around 9 o’clock. That fire was eventually put out.
And while that was going on, firefighters from the north Murray hall were called out after a tree was blown down onto a car on County Road 40.
The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle but wasn’t seriously injured.
