Eden says they went through three phases of the Homestead project. He says the pandemic provided an opportunity to look at the idea of creating rental space on the 18-acre site.

Quality Inn & Suites representative Graham Marsh announced they intend to break ground this fall with an expected completion in the spring or summer of 2026.
It will be the first new hotel in years in Quinte West.
“Lots of rooms, it’s a Suites Hotel which is going to be great. It’s got a pool. A cherry on top for what the community will call our showcase off the 401 that says hey, this is where Trenton is.”

Eden says involvement in the community and giving back is going to be at the core of Homestead Marketplace. He says it is not just through support of sports teams, community agencies, and charities, but through the employment being offered across the region.
“Pride for sure. It’s great to have the feeling that you can give back and create these jobs and we’re up to 158 employees. Well that’s a number that gives you pride and fear.”
