Over 100 Kennametal workers who’ve been on strike since Friday have voted yes on a new contract offer.
The three-year deal includes a 4.5% wage increase in the first year of the deal, and a 3.5% raise in year two and year three.
A union official tells Quinte News that there was also a $500 ratification bonus as well as improvements in the pension plan and some improvements to medical benefits.
Negotiations between Local 5533 of United Steel Workers and the metalworks company had been ongoing over the weekend with the main issue being wages.
Kennametal is located in the former Deloro Stellite plant on Dundas Street East in Belleville.
