Grade 9 East Northumberland Secondary School student Seth Black is a provincial high school track and field champion.
Black won gold in the Novice Boys Javelin event with a best throw of 49.24 metre at the OFSAA championships held at Western University in London.
Ten athletes from the ENSS Blue Dragons competed at OFSAA.
Cadence Tait was 16th in the senior girls’1500 m (4:53.01) and14th in the 800 m (2:22.73).
Dominic Rittwage was 15th in the junior boys’400 m (52.35 s).
Sullivan Tait finished 17th in the novice boys’ 3000 m (9:42.12) and 22nd in the 1500 m (4:41.52).
Temidire Osinuga was 17th in junior girls’ shot put (9.30 m).
Dawson Dunham was 19th in the novice boys’ 3000 m (9:49.20) and Jack Turner was 20th in the same race (9:53.97).
The senior boys’ 4 x 100 m relay – Adrieyl Prince, Aidan Fairbank, Dominic Rittwage, Brayden Clark – finished 14th in 43:45 s.
