Lennox and Addington OPP have laid charges against three people from Toronto, following multiple shoplifting occurrences.
On Monday evening, officers were dispatched to a business on Alkenbrack Street in Napanee, for the report that numerous items were stolen and suspects were leaving the scene.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the individuals were linked to a previous shoplifting incident earlier in the day in Amherstview.
Nearly 1,500 gift cards, along with cash were seized.
As a result, Jianying HE, age 46, Hongfa LIN, age 49, and Hong Quen LIN, age 59, all of Toronto, were arrested and charged with:
- Theft Over $5,000 – shoplifting – two counts
- Fraud over $5,000 – two counts
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Hongfa LIN was additionally charged with one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The investigation is on-going.
