Saturday saw the 25th, and last, Heroes Highway Ride in honour of military veterans and first responders for both veterans and those still serving.
Over 1,000 motorcyclists left the Quinte West Operations Centre on North Murray Street and proceeded west to Port Hope for a celebration and fundraising events.
The Heroes Highway Ride began in 2009.
Admission to the ride has always been free but all donations go to various charities supporting the military such as Wounded Warriors and Military Family Resource Centres, along with groups serving first responders.
It’s believed a military group, affiliated with the motorcycle club The Iron Fist, will step into the breach left by the Heroes Highway Ride.
