Quinte West OPP have laid charges in incidents that spanned over multiple jurisdictions.
On May 25, OPP responded to a traffic complaint involving dangerous and erratic driving behaviour involving a stolen 2024 Toyota Tundra taken from the GTA.
Following numerous traffic incidents, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot near the intersection of Colonial Drive and Harmer Road in the City of Quinte West.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Aviation Unit helped to search the area.
The accused was located and taken into custody.
Nineteen-year-old Wallinton Viveros Camacho was charged with the following:
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation- two counts
- Failure to stop after accident
- Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
The accused remains in custody and has a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
