If you see a slow moving entourage on Old Highway 2 in the Quinte region Saturday through Monday it will very likely be a major awareness and fundraising walk to benefit organizations serving people suffering from mental health and addictions issues.
The walk is called On the Road 4 Mental Health and Greg McPherson will be in this area over the weekend and on Monday heading to Ottawa for the first of June. He began his 600km walk in Niagara Falls May 19.
McPherson lost his son Aric in 2019 and Aric’s good friend Madeleine two years later. Both suffered from mental health and addictions problems and both died by suicide.
The trek began in 2022.
