A commercial vehicle inspection initiative in Kaladar has resulted in seven vehicles being removed from the road and placed out of service.
On Thursday members of the Ontario Provincial Police East Region Highway Safety Division and the Ministry of Transportation inspected 21 commercial vehicles.
Twenty charges were laid for numerous offences including speeding, driving while under suspension, improper licences, load security and vehicle maintenance issues, electronic log issues, violations of the Periodic Mandatory Commercial Vehicle Inspection regulations, as well as Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration violations.
One vehicle had the licence plates removed for serious safety defects.
