The Belleville Police Services Board recognized a longtime member of its Auxiliary Unit at its meeting Thursday.
Auxiliary Sergeant Paul Robichaud finished with the unit on May 1, serving for over 17 years.
Acting Chief of Police Chris Barry said Sgt. Robichaud has volunteered over 2,500 hours to the service since 2009.
Members of the auxiliary unit include assisting sworn officers on patrol, and traffic control and enhancing security and visibility
at major events.
