Belleville council will discuss a Value for Money Review for Policing at its meeting Monday.
In February, Councillor Paul Carr requested a review of police service focused on cost comparisons with other communities, response times, crime prevention measures, and community engagement.
On Monday, council will see a staff report saying such an in-depth study is normally done by consultants at a cost of between $125,000 and $225,000.
Staff is recommending the request be sent to the Belleville Police Services Board for a decision on whether to undertake any review.
