More permits were issued but the construction value was down in April in Quinte West.
The municipality granted 66 permits with a construction value of $10.4 million last month.
In April 2023 there were 46 permits issued worth $14.6 million.
The major difference is the $6.5 million permit for an addition that was taken out by Quinte Custom Foods which is located in the former Nestle plant.
Of note last month were 15 permits for new residential construction.
The year-to-date comparison of construction activity shows 172 permits worth $18.9 million so far this year while there were 179 permits with a value of $63.1 million through April 30 2023.
