Groundwork has begun for the new Clare McFaul Long Term Care home being built in Madoc.
The new 128-bed facility is located on 6.5 acres of land at 208 St. Lawrence Street West beside a conservation area.
In March 2023, Centre Hastings issued the building permit to build the new home with the permit valued at $33,898,000.
About 130 jobs were expected to be created for the project.
Speaking with Quinte News, Centre Hastings Mayor Tom Deline says the building is expected to open its doors to the public in the fall of 2025.
