It appears the Belleville Senators’ best player will back in time for the AHL playoffs.
The Ottawa Senators reassigned Angus Crookshank to Belleville ahead of their best of three series opener against the Toronto Marlies at the CAA Arena Wednesday night.
Crookshank was called up to the NHL club on March 23 but suffered a lower body injury April 2 and hasn’t played since, leaving the rest of his season in doubt.
Crookshank was an AHL All Star this season after scoring 24 goals and 46 points in just 50 games.
Game one in the series is Wednesday at 7.
Game 2 is in Toronto on Friday at 7. If a third game is necessary it will be Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the CAA Arena.
The winner of this series will meet the Cleveland Monsters in the North Division semi final.
