Lennox and Addington OPP laid multiple charges including impaired driving against four motorists in separate incidents over the weekend.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday evening, officers on patrol on County Road 41 near Community Road received a hit for a stolen vehicle vial the Automatic Licence Plate Reader.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old from Oshawa is charged with:
Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Failure to comply with release order – other than attend court
Operation while prohibited – two counts
Drive while under suspension
Saturday evening just before 6 p.m., officers responded to a single vehicle collision with a lone male occupant on Beechwood Road by Drive In Road.
The male was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police arrested the male at the hospital for impaired driving.
The male allegedly became violent and assaulted police.
L&A County OPP has charged a 66-year-old Napanee male with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Assault a peace officer – three counts
Around 2 a.m. Sunday, L & A officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Odessa.
During the investigation it was discovered the male had just been in a domestic violence incident.
A 20-year-old Kingston man faces charges of:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Oper ation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Assault – spousal
Assault causing bodily harm – spousal
Early Monday, shortly before 3 a.m., OPP responded to a call of an unwanted female in a residence who was being assaultive.
Police attended and located the female in a vehicle outside of the residence.
Police arrested the female for impaired driving and assault.
A 25-year-old Loyalist resident is charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Assault
All four were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court in Napanee in May.
In each case, the accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
In total, L & A OPP charged five impaired drivers over the weekend.
