A police officer was allegedly bitten by a person accused of causing a disturbance at Marmora and Lake Library Thursday afternoon.
Central Hastings OPP were called to the library around 2:30 p.m. where an individual was reportedly trying to get into the facility even though it was closed.
Officers located the suspect who resisted attempts to take him into custody.
During a later interaction, one officer was bitten by the individual and an attempt was made to bite another officer.
Twenty-two-year-old Jayden Van Allen of Marmora and Lake is charged with two counts each of assaulting a peace officer and causing a disturbance and three counts of fail to comply with a probation order.
The accused, who also has two outstanding warrants in other parts of Ontario and one in New Brunswick, was held in custody for a bail hearing Friday.
