A grade 11 student at Nicholson Catholic College has been named to the Ontario girls U-17 Xcel soccer team.
Striker Sophia Saville will take part in a round robin series between Ontario and Quebec next month in Vaughan.
Saville was selected by Ontario Soccer following an evaluation camp last month. Seventy-five girls took part. Twenty-two were named to the team.
The 17-year-old Saville started playing soccer at the age of three.
She played for both the Belleville Comets and the Quinte West Wolverines before joining Kingston United at the age of 12.
Sophia Saville is currently in her fifth season with Whitby FC of the Ontario Player Development League.
