A 41 year old Belleville man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
Stephen Ladoucier pleaded guilty to one count each of possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography on Thursday.
Belleville Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation in the spring of 2022.
Police learned that between December 18, 2021 and March 15, 2022, approximately 56 files of child pornography were uploaded to a social media profile on Kik.
Investigation revealed that the uploads were occurring from Ladoucier’s residence, leading to the execution of search warrant at a residence on June 16, 2022 where numerous electronic devices were seized and child pornography was located on a cell phone located in Ladoucier’s bedroom.
Lacoucier was 39 years old at the time of his arrest on June 21, 2022 on two counts of possession of child pornography, one count of accessing child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography.
A Categorization Report revealed 308 images and 49 videos containing child pornography.
Content mainly depicted male and female youths under the age of 13 engaged in various sexual acts with adults.
Ladoucier was sentenced by Justice John Bonn to 18 months jail and 12 months probation.
He also has to submit a DNA sample and will be on the Sex Offender registry for 10 years.
In addition, he must forfeit the cell phone which contained the child pornography and is on a 161 Order for 10 years prohibiting him from going to parks, playgrounds and school yards and from volunteering or working with children under the age of 16.
